The Compton Hut lies at 1,650m above sea level, embedded in a light larch forest at the foot of the majestic north face of the Reißkofel in the Gailtal Alps. It was opened in 1928 and is optically almost in its original condition, which makes it particularly rustic and cosy. In its original state it is therefore considered a true gem among the Alpine Club huts!
