Kohlröselhütte (1532 m) - Naggler Alm - Weißensee

Anyone undertaking this hike needs to be in good physical condition and should not start too late in the day. The ascent runs mainly through forest and the surprise is great when the Jadersdorfer Alm with a pond appears at around 1450 metres above sea level. From here, hikers soon reach the popular Kohlröslhütte, which towers above the valley. The path to the Naggler Alm offers beautiful views, including of Lake Weissensee. The Naggler Alm is run according to ecological principles and spoils you with excellent food.
Suggestion
You can enjoy wonderful views of the Gitsch and Gail valleys and Lake Weissensee.
Equipment

Directions

From Gasthaus Jury in Jadersdorf, we walk east of the built-up stream in a northerly direction, uphill, on trail no. 19/245. We stay on trail no. 245, which leads almost exclusively through forest on old paths and tracks, crossing the goods road several times. After about 2 1/4 hours we reach the Jadersdorfer Alm, where there is a small natural pond. Several huts surround the large stable. We branch off to the right here and reach the Kohlröselhütte at 1532 metres above sea level in a quarter of an hour on a narrow path - wonderful views!

We can now walk back the same way or continue to the Weißensee (return journey by bus - check the timetable!).

In this case, we ascend briefly from the Kohlröselhütte in a NW direction and reach the saddle north above the Jadersdorfer Almhütte, from where we follow the signposts to the Naggler Alm, using either the Gailtaler Höhenweg trail no. 229 with beautiful views or the goods road (easier). After a good hour we reach the Naggler Alm with inn, 1324 metres above sea level. You now have the option of walking to the top station of the chairlift and taking it down to the Weißensee lake, or walking for around 1 hour along the goods trail or path no. 255 to the lake (930 m above sea level). The return journey can be made by bus to Weißbriach and Jadersdorf.

Note: From the Kohlröselhütte you can climb the Golz (2004 m) in around 1 ½ hours.
