Rustic alpine pastures and the natural jewel of a mountain lake. Scenic circular hike to the rustic Bischofalms, crowned by the rewarding detour to the idyllic Zollner Lake.
We leave the Val Pesarina and ascend through the Val Degano to the main ridge of the Karnic Alps to reach the Wolayer See in Austria via the Sentiero dei Cramars.
From the Wolayersee nature reserve we reach the Lesachtal with the Gail via alpine pastures. After the Rötengraben we arrive at the Gailtal high trail, which leads us to the Gailberg saddle.
The strenuous ascent to the Schaflerhöhe is followed by an easy hike into the Gitschtal valley, before finally following the path up to the Kohlröslhütte hut near St. Lorenzen.
The mountains challenge us on this demanding route: Spitzegel, Vellacher Egel and Graslitzen - with views to the south into the Gitsch and Lower Gailtal valleys.
We leave the Gailtal Alps and the Villacher Alpe, head down to the Villacher Feld, take the train and hike from the Faak-Veldener-Senke up to the Bertahütte.
